Ed,
I went to Vietnam as a track mechanic. When I arrived at my unit, 177 armor
in Quang Tri near the DMZ, they asked me if I could type. Apparently I could
type better than anyone else, so I got the job. People served their time and
went home, but because the war was winding down, 1971, they weren't replacing
them. I spent six months in the field as a tank commander, not a driver, but
yes, I can drive them and operate the weaponry. I wonder if you can buy a
tank through army surplus stores?
Lotsa rain came down. How much I'm not sure, but there are a lot of leaky
roofs and I'm busy, but not to busy to go to Edenton should my services be
needed. Looks like Ivan's path has changed again and now will skirt the western
shore of Florida and come up through Georgia and slam us again. If we get
anywhere near the same amount of rain it will cause a lot of damage to areas that
are currently weakened from the downpours. I've had roofs leak that haven't
ever leaked before. The drains can't handle all the water and it's getting
under the flashing. I really hope Ivan decides to change his course.........and
soon.
Caught a picture of Capt. Bob Keller showing off his new sailing technique.
Picture attached.
