Rik,
The Tohatsu 8, which Bill and I both have, consumes 1 gallon per hour at  
full throttle. (per owners manual) I only run at 2/3rds throttle when I'm going  
full speed which according to my GPS is just above 6 mph over ground. You do 
the  math.
