Tom,
Attached are two photos showing the installation on RumRunner. I put the  
marine stereo in a water tight gimbaled mount and then mounted the VHF beneath  
it. The speakers are on the lazerette wall, far enough apart and protected by  
the seats so they aren't in the way, but still give good sound.
If you don't already have speakers, West Marine carries the Nautica Maxxial  
marine speakers which I have in both of our boats. $160.00 for the pair.
