Ah, a flatlander. That could make a difference. I drive a 98 Dodge 1/2 ton  
pickup with the V-6 engine and factory towing package. For what I use it for,  
it's fine, but there are those occasions that I would really like the 
additional  power of the 8 cylinder engines. Remember, the longer and wider the 
wheelbase,  the better the towing capability.....it's a better platform. Tires are 
also an  important choice, but that's a whole new thread.
