Ed, I got in at 2:30 this morning after driving for sixteen hours. Give me a little time to recoup, but I am headed out to sail. I'm not a political person, never have been, but there are people in positions that take responsibility for this crap and they should. I have a ton of questions, starting with: why were those people there in the first place and ending with, why did it take longer for help to arrive than Harry Conniff jr? He simply drove to the center of town and this was on Friday. Food and medical supplies should have been placed in strategic locations to get them to those people as soon as the storm was over. NO had a drill less than a year ago preparing for just this scenario. To many people dropped the ball in my opinion. It's a shame those people had to go through what they did. I hope the rebuilding of NO goes smoother. Thena, Glad all is well for you, but I'm sure your life will not return to normal for quite some time. I will hoist a rum and coke for you and Ben and everyone in harms way today. Rummy......goin sailing.See the original archive post
