Good questions Bill. Since the mast came down, I'm thinking that the base  
plate for the mast must have come loose as designed. I did notice that the  
furling tube for the genoa was bent, so he'll be making a trip to Edenton for a  
replacement. Perhaps a good excuse to stop in at Lake Hartwell and hoist a few  
Mt. Gay's.
