It was a gorgeous winter afternoon in SC. I took Robert from Atlanta and his lovely wife out for a test sail this afternoon. Winds were out of the West at 10 and the temps were in the mid 50 range. It was a great day for a sail. As requested, they brought me a bottle of my favorite rum and they hardly drank any. More for me I guess. The only bad part of the sail is that Robert managed to put his wife under the lee seat....something we have all experienced from time to time. I just hope it didn't taint the afternoon for them. I've discovered that the best part of taking people out for a test sail is that I get to sit back and let somebody else sail and I can drink without having to do any work. Not a bad plan on my part. :) I spoke with Ed this afternoon. He and his wife have been without electricity since last Thursday morning. He's hoping to have power and be back online Tuesday evening. Don't cut him any slack when he does get back online. A little sympathy is definitely due, just don't overdo it. He might get a swelled head. RummySee the original archive post
