You all are forgetting why farm subsidies exist in the first place: to insure a sufficient, economical supply of food for our tables. Without subsidies everything from milk to Wheaties would cost more and you might not find it on the shelf every time you go to the store. Without subsides, farmers simply would not have any reason to stay in business. I come from the dairy state and my wife grew up on a family farm. It's a miserably hard life and they only scratch out a meager income. Not the type of life many people would endure without the subsidies. I know a few farmers, but no rich farmers.
