Kathy,
Welcome to the list. If you are considering the R22, then you obviously  have 
seen one. It is a great day sailor/cruiser and does a decent job racing.  
Personally, I go out sailing for the fun of it. But, you know what they say  
about two sailboats out on the same water.
I find the R22 to be a really great boat because of the huge cockpit which  
is generally the social center. 2 or 4 people would be very comfortable.
