Wire gauge.Question.

I'm going to help Claude do some wiring on his 86 R22, Celtic Lass, next  
weekend. One of the items he wants to add is a 12 volt receptacle in the cockpit  
area. It will be around a 12 foot run and I am in need of advice as to what  
gauge wire I need to use.
