Pete,
The starboard side was the one exposed to the most sun as it sat at the  
Shucks dock. West Marine carries the Meguiars wax and compound products. A  little 
elbow grease or the use of an orbital buffer will remove the haze and  bring 
the color back.
The lock for the pop top has two acorn nuts on top that are easily removed.  
A new lock for the pop top can only be purchased from Stan at GB.
