Rory,
If you are getting water in thru the lazzerette cover, you might have a  
balance problem with the boat. Most R22's are front heavy and we all know that  
Stan has told us that is the way it should be. The only way water can get in  
thru the cover is if it is running to the rear of the boat. Take a look at your  
balance.
