Jay,
I need a clarification on your post. You said: in light winds it dragged,  
heavy  
winds it tended to pump. 
Do you mean it dragged in the water? When I use the whisker pole, my sail  
never comes close to the water. I use both of the genoa sheets to control the  
position of the whisker pole. It eliminates the pumping you mentioned. I'm 
still  fuzzy on the dragging part.
