Bill,
I'm going to take a stab at your water problem. Since you keep your R22 on  a 
lift, I'm betting that the water is entering through the bottom of the cabin  
hatch. You have changed the angle of the boat sending most water to the front 
 where it only has the centerboard pennant to run down.
