Ron, The previous owner had it in the lazzerette. When I bought the boat he had a fifteen gallon tank in there. I have since downsized to a six gallon tank. My lazzerette has eyes built into the fiberglass which makes it convenient to tie it down. Security is also a consideration since I keep the boat on the end of a dock in a large marina. It also centers the weight and I don't have to look at an ugly red gas can. Now, I don't want to start a discussion concerning the dangers of this placement since it's been done over and over and over again. This is an old topic and there are those on the list that will tell you I'm close to blowing up the boat. Eighteen years later and it hasn't happened. No kaboom.
