Once again you failed to provide all the information. A problem with the furler is something that needs to be repaired. If trailering is causing a bend in the furling tube, you need to change your method of transporting it. Think about adding a stick in the end of the mast that will extend out far enough to support the furling tube. Any bends in either the tube or the plates need to be straightened out for it to work properly. If your front stay is not tight enough, it can cause the furler to wobble. You can usually correct this problem by adding more pressure on the rear stays. This system has been in use for more than 20 years and is bullet proof. Any problems are either related to operator error or as in your case, damaged goods. I would suggest repairing anything broken or bent parts so you can get the full use out of the hardware as per it's design.
