Unlikely that SP2 had anything to do with it. You might want to run your  
anti-virus software after updating and use a good spyware cleaner like Spybot  
search and destroy (Free).
If anyone is interested, I've found that Norton and Macafee are too  
invasive. I use and recommend AVG Free. It runs without intruding and gets the  job 
done.
