This is actually a very easy question to answer. Smoking and drinking are  
both very social things that people enjoy. Smoking and drinking also lead to  
people having more sex which of course makes them very happy. After sex, most  
people reach for the cigarette and sit back and enjoy the glow with yet another 
 drink. I would willingly give up half of my income for that lifestyle. 
What's  not to like. And, they also have a choice of what they want to smoke. :)

I  know, I know, with this kind of simplistic philosophy Demark will never 
make  it to # one so relax:; no fear of an invasion to make us over in their  
image.  And don't pick on me just because I believe what I hear on 60  Minutes 
and the e-mails about Barack Obama.     I just like  herring.   All right, red 
herring.
