Mike,
Most fuel pumps that I've seen over the years have two or three screws
holding the cover in place. Replacing the diaphragm is easy. This is one you can
do. Most fuel pumps are mounted on the side of the engine casing because it
uses the vacuum of the motor for power.

Rummy,

Is this something I can do? My water pump also gave out at the begining of
the season. Got a parts diagram from a local dealer, unbelievably a water
pump kit was in stock, worked off the parts diagram and replaced the the
impeller myself. So I'm somewhat mechanical. Can you give a brief
instruction on what to do? Any possibly complications I might experience?

I was able to locate the diaphram (2 sited) you speak of off the carbeurator
diagram online (thanks to Mike). I suppose just order the parts and off I
go?

Thanks,
Michael
