Lou, Like manym others I have the original clutch that came with my boat. It grips the control line, but under heavy pressure will release it instead of damaging the rudder. I have a pict I took at GB with the lance cleat but I seem to not understand how this lance cleat is going to give way if the rudder blade hits something?? I am using a jam cleat and I know I have to change to something that will act as a clutch and let the control line out if I ground the rudder on a shoal. LouSee the original archive post
