Bob, The rudder repair is fairly simple. The first step is to make sure the core is completely dry. I had mine in the garage over a summer before I did the work. I had the luxury of having a spare rudder. Once the core is dry, sand around the cracked areas to be repaired and wipe clean with rag. Then it becomes a matter of laying in layers of fiberglass over the cracks lengthwiays and sanding in between layers. West has a good fiberglass system available from marine suppliers and they can provide you with a manual if you are unfamiliar with the workings of fiberglass. Would you please indicate how you did it, and what materials you used. Thanx a heap. If it is simply split along the seams, it can be dried out and repaired with fiberglass. It's not a hard fix and something that I did several years ago to mine. It is the old style that has two metal plates on the sides. It is 1 1/2" white Kingstarboard. It was professionally made by a plastics on a CNC machine. The price is at cost of $125.00 plus shipping. If anyone is interested, I could send pics. I own a 1973 Rhodes, which is certainly old style. I have split the bottom portion of my rudder. The top portion is ok as is the tiller. Does the part of the rudder you selling include the bottom part? Thank You. Bob Kesselring sk8ersr at copper.net Todd T. -- Be Yourself @ mail.com!
