Lee,
My wife's Chaparral has a large V-8 engine. The battery pack turned that
over with no trouble. Get rid of the deep cycle battery. They don't appreciate
sudden deep loads. Also, you might want to install a solar panel controller
which only allows power to go in one direction. Without it, on cloudy days a
solar panel will discharge your battery. It also prevents the panels from over
charging the batteries. Capt. Keller installed one a few years ago and hasn't
had any problems since.

Rummy and Tom,

My motor battery is deep cell instead of a starter battery. Are you sure a
battery pack will start it? I've been told that it won't, but I don't know
why.

Next motor I get will definitely have an easier means of manually starting
the engine.
