Greg,
Well, you found a great place to get advice. As you proceed with your  
project, don't hesitate to ask questions and remember, a picture is worth a  
thousand words. Pictures will make it a lot easier to help you. Many of the  parts on 
the R22 are specific to this hull. Those parts are available (for the  most 
part) from the manufacturer, General Boats.

I bought "Serenity" from a Craigslist ad. Her hull is sound  and I have the
mast and boom, but she needs a lot of cosmetic attention.  She needs painting
and everything from anchor to new rigging. I have the  sails to get me
started but will need to upgrade quickly. Beginner sailor  so open to any and
all advise. I use to build furniture and surfboards and  I also restored two
houses so I have some experience at restorations. I  will be sailing near
Northeast MD.
