Andy, Sounds like you have the right idea. Apparently somewhere along the line a previous owner made some modifications to the pulley system. I will have pictures of my cap and pulley system for you tonight. I know that Stan has made modifications over the years, but I've never seen your arrangement. The drawing is from the article on the website about how to rehab your centerboard, trunk and cap. (don't worry, Stan, I'll get a recycled Rhodes before I would attempt that on CEALA!) The problem area, as I see it is where the double mini block (in the drawing) for the mechanical advantage attaches and the bolts go thru the hull. There are 2 gaskets, one fiberglass and one rubber. The fiberglass gasket appears sound, but the rubber gasket is deformed by the nuts and (too small) washers. I'm going to get a new strip of rubber and a SS plate to go over it. Then I will replace the washers on the nuts with larger one. I'm fairly sure this is the only leak. Thanks for you input.See the original archive post[broken link to nabble content:http://www.nabble.com/file/p22928244/CB_cap.jpg]
