Mary Lou,
Those blasted pink elephants are a real hazard and I try to avoid them as
much as possible. If they catch up to me they stay for hours and drink most
of my rum. They are nothing more than cheap mooches.

Rummy,
What you need on you boat is all so dependent on where you sail. The
Chesapeake barges - usually a tug pushing a barge but sometimes a tug
towing one. They can move very quickly when they are empty. There is
nothing like being "safely" out of the channel - well out of the
channel I might add - and having a push barge head straight for you.
He eventually turned off and headed down the bay but not before we
had fired up the motor and started motoring for all we were worth to
get to the shallows and out of his path.

What do you do about the pink elephants? Or aren't they a hazard?

Mary Lou
