Darrell, Great boat for Lake Norman. Since you are retiring, the odds of having others join you for sails, except on weekends and holidays, makes the R22 a great single handed choice. I go out alone a lot and thoroughly enjoy every minute of it. Bigger boats can be single handed, but try to remember the joy of sailing a fast smaller boat without having to struggle with it. Some times I just prefer to be out alone. Loud rock and roll, a cold rum and coke and me and ten mph winds. Yeee Hahhh. Did I mention the French maidens?
