I have Stan's electric lift system and wouldn't trade it for anything. On  
my model, there is a manual override on the lift motor to allow for manual  
lowering or raising if necessary. I know this because I installed it myself. 
 Those that have a factory installation would be lucky if they received an 
owners  manual or they would never know about it.
