Alex, A simple solution to your problem would be to remove the Windex and install a short piece of plastic tubing, sliding it down above the piece that covers the whips mount to the base. Reinstall the Windex and the cap that keeps it in place. This way you won't have to remount anything. Rummy In a message dated 7/23/2010 5:51:13 P.M. It looks like I am going to have to fabricate a bracket to raise the antenna higher, clearing the raised forward portion of the masthead casting. How do other list members mount their VHF antenna? Also, while I am working here, should I install a masthead light? I have a light on the forward part of the mast about half way up, and a small round stern light on the transom. Also, what is the ring on the upper forward part of the masthead for? Here are some pictures to clear up my poor description.
