DO NOT BEACH YOUR R22...ever. Wave action will fill your centerboard cavity with mud or sand or rocks or whatever and I won't go near the topic of what structural damage you might cause. Drop an anchor off shore and back your R22 in toward shore, raising your rudder and using the motor to steer. You should be able to get close enough this way that you can step off your ladder in knee deep water. I usually throw another anchor on shore to keep the stern close for easy boarding. I've tried poking things through the pennant tube to no avail. I'm hoping I don't have to pull her and remove the CB cap. Has anyone beached their R22? How did it go? I'm thinking about doing it this weekend as the tide seems just about perfect; dead low at 1pm. So I could beach her at 10am and have her back afloat at 4 or 5pm. Any advice is appreciated. -- View this message in context: http://old.nabble.com/Anyone-careened-their-Rhodes-22--tp29712883p29712883.html Sent from the Rhodes 22 mailing list archive at Nabble.com.See the original archive post
