You can purchase a new tiller from General Boats. It will have a thin coat of varnish and you will want to sand and give it several coats of varnish. I have found six or seven coats will last many years. Rummy In a message dated 12/7/2011 11:34:00 A.M. Before you go to the trouble to make a tiller, you might want to take a look at manufactured ones. As usual, you can probably find them cheaper than at West Marine. I believe someone on this list bought one, not sure exactly what model it is. - rob http://www.westmarine.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?productId =99623&catalogId=10001&langId=-1&storeId=11151&storeNum=50045&subdeptNum=501 45&classNum=50146 -----Original Message----- From: rhodes22-list-bounces at rhodes22.org [mailto:rhodes22-list-bounces at rhodes22.org] On Behalf Of Dennis Frappier Sent: Wednesday, December 07, 2011 7:37 AM To: 'The Rhodes 22 Email List' Subject: Re: [Rhodes22-list] Compass & Jack Stands Thanks for the picture Rob. The hull looks real good, is that the finished bottom paint? Do you have the line to the dagger board replaced regularly? There is a lot of value to me from the picture. The Rudder stick looks longer than I have seen before. I was going to make a new one for mine. What length and material do you recommend? I was thinking about a piece of a LAM (laminated beam) custom cut and fit to the rudder? Sincerely, Dennis Frappier Marketing / Business Development ConsultantSee the original archive post
