Your photo shows that the strap is stamped "Racelite" . It is most likely a Tang. It looks to be about 1/2" wide, that has been shaped to the circumference of the furling tube. Here is a source: www.racelite.com.

Sounds like Chris had a good work through but I'd be a little concerned with a hose clamps chafing the strap on the sail.  Hope this works. Good luck.

Some of you might remember my trouble with the main sail not wholly unfurling. The sail was worn and damaged in a few spots. My son and I removed the sail, photographing every step of the way and putting pieces of hardware into labeled baggies. I sent the sail off to sailcare for refurbishment. Anyway, we tried putting the sail back on the furling tube and ran into trouble immediately.

The main is attached to the furling tube at the top and bottom by stainless bands (or possibly referred to as "eye straps"?) that are screwed in place. We can't find those. Photos are attached.

I don't see these listed on http://www.rhodes22parts.com <http://www.rhodes22parts.com/>, except perhaps with the entire furling tube replacement. I'm very happy to order directly from general boats, but I don't need the whole tube assembly.

Does anyone know where I might order replacements?
