List Colleagues, I had to remove my headsail and furling tube from the forestay to make some repairs to the roller furling assembly, and now I’m not sure how much of the black furling line needs to be wrapped around the spool at the bottom of the tube, and in what direction. I’m thinking it needs to be wrapped in a clockwise direction, so that when pulled it will bring the jib in clockwise and furl it, but I’m not sure how much line needs to be left remaining on the spool or spindle when the jib is fully unfurled. (I’m not at the boat now, so I’m having to visualize it and may be wrong about the direction.) I looked at Stan’s manual but didn’t see anything about that. I suppose I can try trial and error, but I thought I’d seek the wisdom of this group first.
