Hi Roger,
   It seems my earlier response to this message never posted.  The slop in my rudder assembly is at the blade, not the tiller.  There are no Teflon spacers, so perhaps that's my problem.  Once I get my wood refinished and I reassemble I'll have a better idea about how to proceed.
