   I have the exact tube you’re describing on my Genoa.  The tube in the pictures lives inside my mast as the furling mechanism for my IMF system.  If you watch the video that Marc referenced you’ll see that the furler on SV Silverheels has an aluminum extrusion running up the mast, mine just has a tube. I’m wondering if Stan changed the design or if  a previous owner of my boat used a tube as a cheaper fix to some problem, perhaps a bent or damaged extrusion.  Thanks for the response though
