Hi Marc,
   I see you have an ‘85.  Does your boat have the same furler extrusion as Peter’s?
I have an ‘86 and my furler tube is just that:  a tube (see attached photos).  I’m wondering if it’s original, or if someone has replaced the extrusion.  I also would like to replace the furler line with something a bit longer but can’t figure out how to remove the end cap without destroying it.  Does anybody else have a tube in their mast?
