Hmm, Peter, end cap at the bottom? It’s been a couple of years but I don’t recall a cap at the bottom. I just removed the bolt that secured the bearing block for the furler and slid everything out the bottom of the mast. It wasn’t too hard to fabricate new parts from HDPE using hand tools and a drill press.

Mine has been damaged over the years, perhaps by someone trying to remove it, and I’m afraid I’ll destroy it trying to get it off. I’d like to swap out the furling line.
